Sevika Sanghom

'She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.' Proverbs 31: 21& 26

Mar Thoma Suvishesha Sevika Sanghom is the women's organization of Mar Thoma Church that was established with the purpose of providing a platform for Marthomite women above the age of 18 to play a significant role in the evangelistic and charitable mission of the church. The organization was founded in 1919 under the leadership of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan and is headquartered in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. The solid foundation of the highly prominent organization was laid by the sacrificial and relentless efforts of its early leaders. This calendar year marks the 95th anniversary of the organization, which has grown tremendously since its inception. Sevika Sanghom now runs many orphanages, schools, hostels and cottage industry units to help, educate and empower underprivileged children and women. The organization regularly publishes its monthly magazine called 'vanita Bodhini'. More details can be found at

Sevika sanghom meets every 2nd and 3rd Saturdays 10:00 AM at our Church. Regular programs of Sevika sanghom include Bible study sessions, bible quizzes, intercessory prayers, and school of Gamaliel. Sevika Sanghom conducts fund raising activities such as Hagar Night, Bake sale, and Craft auction for supporting mission projects and to show love of God by helping our sisters and mothers undergo hardships.
